Application Due Date:

*****EARLY-BIRD RATE available for all students who apply, are accepted, and pay the initial deposit by December 17, 2018*****

While our official due date is March 1, 2019, please note that we are currently admitting students on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.  Please apply early for full consideration

Please click below to access the 2019 CASI application.  This form, and its accompanying materials must be submitted via email to apply@casonginstitute.org.  Application fees may be paid via check or electronically (send an email requesting a PayPal invoice).

CASI Application 2019

Only completed applications submitted electronically by March 1, 2019 will be considered.  NOTE:

  • Performance Track: All applications for the Fellows program will automatically be considered for the Apprentice program if not named a Fellow.
  • Choral Track: All applications for the Scholars program will automatically be considered for the Apprentice program if not named a Scholar.

Make sure to include:

    • Application form
    • Current Resume
    • Current Repertoire List
    • 2 Recommendation letters
    • Audition recordings as per your Program of choice (video submission required either via YouTube link or DVD submission)
    • $30 Application fee:
      • Checks made out to The Cornish-American Song Institute and mailed to 1423 Tulip Ave. McAllen, TX 78504
      • Electronic payments can be take via Venmo or entered manually by CASI via PayPal. Please call 254-652-0245 or email admin@casonginstitute.org to remit payment electronically.

Audition repertoire:

Performance Track:

  • Fellows (Singers): 5 selections 3 of which must be art songs and you must represent 3 languages
  • Fellows (Pianists): 1 virtuoso solo piano selection, 1 German Lied, 1 French Melodie, 1 English Song (note song repertoire should show stylistic/tempo contrast and be of a challenging level (Wolf, Debussy, Finzi, etc…)
  • Apprentices: 2 art songs, one of which must be English and one in another language

Choral Track:

  • Scholars: 2 art songs, one of which must be English and one in another language and a video of you conducting a choral ensemble
  • Choral Apprentices: 2 art songs, one of which must be English and one in another language. Optional: a video of you conducting a choral ensemble.

Observer Applications:

The Cornish-American Song Institute welcomes local residents and students to observe the classes of the Institute.  If interested, please contact Dr. David Sadlier at admin@casonginstitute.org and complete the application form below:
